I am a Registered Social Worker in both Alberta and Ontario with a Master of Social Work in Clinical Practice. I am also authorized to preform restricted activities as a social worker.
Throughout my social work journey, I have worked with individuals in a variety of settings, including correctional centers, outpatient mental health clinics, community crisis, and inpatient psychiatry. I practice from a non-judgmental and empathetic counselling framework in which all of us have the capacity to change and grow, no matter our background or past trauma. I have learned so much from the individuals I have worked with, and I have been honored to join alongside them as they heal. I believe we are shaped by adverse life experiences because of the imprints they can leave on our bodies and minds. These experiences impact how we see ourselves and the world, which can limit our ability to be our fullest selves. I have seen how providing a safe and supportive therapeutic environment can help individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and grief to feel empowered and recognize the strength within them to heal.
Currently, I hold a certification in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I am also in the process of advancing my training in Somatic Experiencing and EMDR.
